Archbishop Prendergast did it again, only this time the victim was different. The Pandas surprised the league's first-place team, Archbishop Carroll, 1-0, in the Catholic League tournament semifinals Thursday in Philadelphia. Maryland's 4A Region a tough place to qualify for state field hockey tourney

Huron High School bolts into semifinals of Michigan field hockey tournament

Huron High School erupted for three second-half goals to claim a 3-0 victory over Livonia Ladywood in the Michigan High School Field Hockey Association state quarterfinals Wednesday in Ann Arbor. River Rats goals came from Ainsley McCallister, Kelsey Gradwhol and Erin Edwards. Huron moves on to face Bloomfield Hills Academy of Sacred Heart today at Country Day in Detroit, while Pioneer High School squares off with Bloomfield Hills Marian in the other semi. North Carolina state high school field hockey tourney hits the semis

They know how to seed 'em out in North Carolina. How else to explain the top four seeds reaching the semifinals of the state high school field hockey tournament? On Friday they'll play to reach the title game; No.1 seed and undefeated Charlotte Latin School faces off against No. 4 Ravenscroft School; No. 2 Charlotte Country Day School gets No. 3 Durham Academy on the other side of the bracket. The winners play on Saturday for the championship.

York poised to repeat as Maine Class B champs; Nokomis stands in the way

York High School's field hockey steam defended their Western Maine Class B championship with a 2-1 win over rival Wells in Monday's regional title game. The Wildcats now aim to repeat as state champion on Saturday in Yarmouth when it plays Eastern Maine champion Gardiner, which defeated Nokomis. Read more at SeacoastOnline.

Camp Hill loss signals end of an era in Pennsylvania field hockey

Camp Hill's 3-2 loss on Tuesday to East Pennsboro in the District 3 Class AA first round was more than the end of a playoff run for the Pennsylvania field hockey team. It was the final game, after 25 years and 299 wins, for coach Anna Baldini. And that's not a typo: Baldini ended her career a game short of 300 wins. But as she said after the game, her record's not the point. "You don’t coach to get a number for yourself, you don’t coach for you. You coach for them, for heaven’s sake." 3-time defending champs Sacred Heart stunned in Kentucky semis by Collegiate

Sacred Heart Academy's reign in Kentucky field hockey came to an end Tuesday night when Collegiate upset the three-time defending champion 1-0 in a state tournament semifinal at Bellarmine University. Glendora High School remains a field hockey power in California

The Glendora (Calif.) High School Tartans field hockey team usually competes for a league championship every season. This year's no different, as seniors Natalie Hernandez, Sara Hirkawa and Claire Luevanos have helped make them again one of the top teams in its league and capable of winning a CIF title. Hedwig helps Madison (N.J.) win Morris County Field Hockey Tournament

Ali Helwig’s tendency is to receive the ball, wind up and unleash a powerful drive, so Madison High School field hockey coach Ann Marie Davies has been trying to get the junior midfielder to exhibit some finesse. In overtime on Sunday, that coaching paid off as Helwig scored the game-winner over previously undefeated West Morris in the Morris County Field Hockey Tournament final in New Jersey. Find out how.
