Ward-Melville tips Smithtown East, claims Suffolk Class A field hockey title

It was easy, said Becca Arent. "I had my stick down in position and it deflected right off me," the forward said of the only goal in the game between Ward Melville and Smithtown East. Sometimes easy is enough, as the 1-0 victory allowed Ward Melville on Wednesday to claim the Suffolk Class A field hockey title for the third straight year. They'll now face Massapequa, the Nassau Class A champion, in Saturday's Long Island championship. Read more at Newsday.
