The University of North Carolina stunned top-seeded and previously unbeaten Maryland by rallying to a dramatic 3-2 victory in Sunday's NCAA field hockey championship. The defending national champion Terrapins (23-1) did not trail until the game's final seconds and had a one-goal advantage in the waning minutes. But North Carolina (20-2) removed its goalie with just less than eight minutes remaining, scored a game-tying goal with 4 minutes 45 seconds left and the game-winner with 11.7 seconds left.
