Greene, Lakeland, Bronxville claim field hockey state titles in New York

Greene High School coach Sue Carlin jumped for joy on the sidelines, hugging her assistants as her field hockey squad won its first state title since 2002. The Trojans made senior Erin Smith's first-half goal stand up as they beat Mamaroneck, 1-0, for the New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class A Championship on Nov. 21. CLASS C: The Bronxville High School squad tipped Putnam Valley High field hockey team 3-2 in an overtime thriller on Nov. 21 to claim the Class C Championship.
