Colorado Academy defense stymies Kent 1-0

Colorado Academy tipped rival and perennial power Kent Denver 1-0 on Wednesday in a game that could be a preview of the playoffs. The Sun Devils (4-1-2) at times dominated the action and had numerous corners, but could not convert their chances into a score. Kelly Florence scored for CA (7-2) in the first half and the Mustangs' defense made the goal stand up for a big home win.

Kent will have a chance to redeem itself quickly: the team travels to Grandview (0-5-1) on Wednesday, then comes home to face Denver East (6-1) on Saturday. CA hosts Fort Collins (4-4) on Thursday, Smoky Hill (4-3-1) on Saturday.
